Boris had opened a small bookstore in downtown Athens. A folly his wife had told him, “You are fifty-three years old and have a family. What does your brain tell you?” You're crazy his former boss had told him, “You've always been a mediocre employee, what do you know about books?” A big stupid thing his father had told him, “You've always let me down. That's all you know how to do.” But Boris looked at his storefront, the novels on display, the posters, and for the first time in his life he felt happy.
